Mayor Julia is known and recognized as a business and accounting professional with more than 20 years of experience as an accountant, business consultant, tax preparer, and expert in managing and advising non-profit organizations and commercial businesses. She is a Senior Manager in the Client Advisory Services Department at Wegner CPAs acting as CFOs for her clients. She has served as an Alderwoman for the City of Fitchburg Common Council from 2015-2023. She began her service as Mayor of Fitchburg in April 2023.
She holds a degree in Business and Accounting from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, in Argentina and a Master in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University in Georgia, US. Her family moved to Fitchburg 18 years ago, she calls Fitchburg HOME. She and her husband raised two sons in this city and they attended the Madison Schools. She also has served and serves in numerous non profits organizations as board member.
Julia is originally from Argentina and has been a Fitchburg resident since 2004. She enjoys gardening and snowshoeing in her free time and she is an avid soccer (futbol) fan


Julia’s tenure at the City of Fitchburg
Since April 2023, Mayor Julia has been working very hard to make Fitchburg one of the best suburbs in Dane County. She also served an Alderwoman for the City of Fitchburg Common Council from 2015-2023. During her tenure, she has served in several commissions and committees in different leadership roles and acted as President of the Council in 2020. Currently she serves as the Chair of the Plan Commission.
During her tenure in the City, Mayor Julia has served as:
Chair of Finance Committee for four years and member for six years.
Chair of Community Economic Development Authority (CEDA) for three terms and member for nine years. She also was the co-chair of Forward Fitchburg strategic vision for the city.
Member of Plan commission, Tree Committee, Bike committee for one term and Chair of the Personnel Committee.

In the last three years more than 20 new businesses moved to Fitchburg.
The Courtyard at Fitchburg an assisted living facility.
Investing in Infrastructure: Police Facility Groundbreaking
For the last ten years the City has finally moved forward with the construction of this facility to serve better our residents.


The HUB Park at Traceway Drive
A community center with 3,889 square feet, two large meeting rooms, a warming kitchen, office and restrooms. The outdoor space features a playground, terrace, bike rack, asphalt for basketball, pickleball and other games, social gathering spaces and a bike park and paths.
Springhill Suites by Marriot Hotel Groundbreaking
Bringing more accommodations and hotel room is great for our city. This hotel will have 100 rooms equipped with the best ammenities.

In 2012, Brava Magazine recognized Julia as one of "23 Women to Watch" for her role in the Latino Chamber of Commerce and her entrepreneurship initiatives.
Women of Achievement Award
In 2013, Julia was recognized with the "Women of Achievement Award" by the Wisconsin Women of Color Network for her commitment to enriching the lives of women of color.
Community Leader Award
In 2014, she was awarded the Community Leader Award for her work with the Latino Business community in Dane County.

In July of 2015, she was recognized by the INBusiness Magazine as one of Madison's "Most Influential" people for her contributions to the business community.

Julia was recognized a one of the 100 leaders in the region who is driving economic growth and driving her community into a thriving place to work and live. in 2024, Mayor Julia received the Visionary Award from Centro Hispano for her work fostering a thriving Latino Community.
Latino Chamber of Commerce and Latino Professional Association
Julia for the former Chair of the Board and co-founder of the Latino Professional Association of Greater Madison. She also served in the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce board of directors, a South-Central Advisor Team for Wisconsin Women Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC), Agrace, and United Way of Dane County
League of Wisconsin Municipalities
Mayor Julia served in the Madison Region Economic Partnership (MadRep) in the Executive Board as Treasurer until 2024,and the Overture Center Foundation as past treasurer. Currently she is a Board member of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities representing south central area.
